This incredible formation shocked the world when it appeared in Crabwood on 15th August 2002. It clearly depicts a portrait of an alien “grey” holding a binary disc and what we think is probably the 3 stars of orion’s belt above the being’s right shoulder.
The message encoded in ASCII reads:
“Beware the bearers of FALSE gifts & their BROKEN PROMISES. Much PAIN but still time. BELIEVE. There is GOOD out there. We OPpose DECEPTION. Conduit CLOSING.”
Interestingly the formation appeared next to a radio tower in similar fashion to the Arecibo response binary strip formation that appeared just over a year before next to the Chilbolton observatory. It measured around 300 sq ft in size, interestingly there are reports that the dimensions of the portrait measured 59m x 33m – which when multiplied together makes 1947 – the date of the Roswell incident.
There are claims that this formation was a commission as a marketing stunt for the movie “Signs” of the same year, being released just prior to it’s appearance on 2nd August 2002.
